You’ve probably seen all kinds of advice about how to take care of your skin when you travel and what are the Essential Skincare Travel Tips. Most of the time is hard to figure it out. I would suggest taking what is only needed and leave the rest at home. It took me years to master the art of packing. I remember even after putting so much effort there’s also something that I forget to carry along. It’s hard to believe but yes the most important sunscreen. Then the headache of running to a store to find the same sunscreen and overpriced products. Yes, it can be stressful! But now after much experience, you can count on me. I will tell you what is necessary to take and what to leave behind. It might not be a deal for many but it can be challenging finding the best products that you love while travelling, especially beauty products. Here are my travel make-up guide and essentials products to pack like a pro! I will go step by step. First and most importantly is our skin. Travelling on a long haul flight can make your skin dry. A good moisturiser required. Regardless of where your next trip is, either it’s summer or winter the one thing you’re going to want to be sure to pack along and not forget is sunscreen. Let’s start with our skin daily routine to carry along.
To organise all your beauty products a travel pouch is what you would require. All your essentials make up daily wear can fit in your travel pouch. I like it since it fits in my handbag as well. You can find them in drugstores or best on amazon.
The ultimate travel companion bag is very essential to keep all your carry on together. For example your basic things such as beauty accessories, cosmetics, shampoo, lotion, medicine, hairdryer and straighteners. I love it as this bag fits so many of my travel necessities.
Sunscreen is very important in our daily life. Not only in the summer but throughout the year. I have tried a few sunscreens before from luxury brand to drugstore. But form most of the products that I’ve used I find Neutrogena works well for my skin since I have sensitive skin. It has 100% zinc oxide which we normally look in a sunscreen. It has colloidal oatmeal which great for reducing sensitivity and redness. Plus it has a minimal and non-sensitizing list in terms of ingredients.
Since I have oily skin this cleanser works well for my skin. This is a great facial cleanser since it has such good ingredient list such ceramides Hyaluronic acid attracts needed moisture Niacinamide helps calm skin. A gentle facial wash effective for sensitive skin oily skin, acne-prone. I have been using this for a couple of months now and I love it!
This sheet mask is absolutely great. Perfect for prepping your skin and de-puffing before landing. Why I love it is because it hydrates your skin. It contains important ingredients like peptides and hyaluronic acid. Plus its 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
I have been using Clinique for quite a while and I love their products. One of which is the Replenishing hydrator. This has been my all-time favourite. It is lightweight and easily absorbs on the skin. Of course the key ingredients Hyaluronic acid fragments and activated aloe water plump skin with moisture. Yes, and fragrance-free. The small jar fits well in your travel pouch.
I have tried different under eye creams over the years and the CeraVe’s eye repair cream has been my top favourite. Firstly it’s fragrance-free. It has niacinamide a skin-restoring agent which helps to make our skin looks brighter and helps the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. It has Hyaluronic Acid that helps retain skin’s moisture.
The Ordinary is a brand from DECIEM. The products have proved that good skincare. The brand takes a transparent and science-based approach. I have been using this product for over a year now. What I love about it, there is a product for every skin concern unless you are suffering from really bad acne. The fact most of the products are separate ingredients means you can mix and match, treating specific areas of your skin.
The shade range is awesome. I love this foundation since it has full coverage weightlessly glides over the skin. You need just a tiny amount for your entire face.
This is such a perfect lightweight water mist that gently soothes and refreshes skin and finishes makeup.
This is one of the best primers I’ve ever tried so far. It is infused with Squalane to help grip makeup and hydrate the skin. I love it as it is also fragrance-free, vegan and cruelty-free. Very affordable.
This is one of my favourite Powders settings. This product helps diffuse the appearance of my pores. It works great and doesn’t appear cakey. It last well the entire day.
I recently bought this from Ulta. I think I am obsessed with it now. It’s a beautiful peachy shade with just a hint of pink. I bought this in the clour Aloha. Normally my all-time favourite is the Maybelline Fit Me Blush
Nars have been my favourite brand for many years. This is great for coverage. Not heavy and looks really natural. Easy to blend, lightweight. You might also like to check out the other highlighter from NYX Born to Glow Radiant Concealer from NYX. It is hydrating so it’s great for under the eyes but doesn’t look greasy if set in fine lines. Sets well with powder
I had tried a couple of mascara’s from different brands, but I keep going back to Maybelline mascara. I really like it. The brush is like a magic wand here.
When I go through my eyeshadow palette I really don’t have the perfect pallet. I like the mix and match. I look for an inner corner highlight, mid-tone transition, some browns and rose. Basically a neutral tone for everyday wear. I have one of my favourite from Anastasia that I like that fits well for my travel carry on. I find it a little overpriced for me but I found a dupe of almost the same shades from Wet n Wild. They are so affordable. I love the texture and its creaminess. The shadows softly glide over the skin. Small enough to travel.
NYX Professional Makeup Matte Liquid Liner:
I love this eyeliner. It has an extreme matte finish. The applicator is very smooth. It stays on throughout the day with no crack or bleeding. Plus it is so affordable. Great quality.
NYX Professional Makeup Retractable Eyeliner:
The fact that keeps using this eyeliner because I like the creamy texture and It applies very well on my waterline. It does not smudge for me.
Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick:
These come in varieties of colours. I normally don’t wear much of a Matte liquid lipstick but I somehow love this lip colour. It is creamy and this product doesn’t dry out lips as intensely as other long-wear mattes do. It’s a must-have in my purse.
Found this couple of months ago on Ulta. For the price, it’s a great lip balm. It is Organic & 100% natural. Super moisturizing. A must-have in your purse.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes Twin Pack:
These wipes are always great. These facial towelettes easily wipe away dirt and It feels super hydrated after using the wipe. This is the best makeup remover pad and the perfect size for travel and purse.
I love it so much so affordable with great ingredients like shea butter, macadamia oil, and marshmallow. This product really is hand food. It’s rich and creamy. My hands and feet have never been so happy.
Travel size hair care essentials:
I found this on amazon had used for my vacation to south Italy. Since I did not want I didn’t want to pack all of my hair products because of weighing my bag. This shampoo and conditioner are amazing and Sun Bum 3 in 1 Leave-in Conditioner Spray works great for my hair since I have long thick hair. Of course, the product is cruelty-free Sulfate Free, Paraben Free, UV Protection, Color Safe.
Small enough for travel. The compact size fits well in my carry-on luggage, and the heat-resistant cover means I can stow and go in a hurry. It works great for my long hair and plus I do not need to get a curling iron since you can also curl your hair with the same iron.
One of my friends recommended me this and I couldn’t be thankful enough. It is so compact and lightweight, perfect for travel. This is a small hairdryer with enough strength to dry my long hair and delivers smooth & shiny finished. Valuable for money.
I recently bought this. Though I’m not a lip gloss person However I must say I love it. No stickiness, and feels really good on my lips. I bought in the shade Amber. I think I will try other shades too.
Still using this primer. Still love it. This is one of the best primers I’ve ever tried so far.

That Pacifica face mask would be perfect for a long plane ride. It’s important to be comfortable.
Oh yes, I tried them and I love it.
Great post! I’ve been working on learning to travel light over the years…I have previously been someone who never knowingly under packed! But cosmetics and toiletries are the category I struggle with most. Always intriguing to see how other people pull it off!
I think you’ve covered the whole gamut. I’m still learning to not being my whole house with me when I travel. Downsizing is becoming my best friend. I see you have my all time fave perfume in one of your photos….
Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Until a few years I have a problem of taking the whole house with me but over the years and travelling more often somehow I’ve learnt to downsize everything. Not only that but picking the right products.
So I am not a girls girl when it comes to beauty/makeup. I am more of a keep it simple person. And I have a LOT of these products! I was surprised! What a great list!
Thank You. It all just comes in handy🙂
Such great tipa for traveling
Thank You.
What a comprehensive guide! There are a lot of travel size products on the market but we really need to try and find the ones that works for us. Personally I love all Ordinary products. I have the serums, they saved all trips from having dry skin while traveling on the plane, in nature and heavy winds etc.
Oh yes, the Ordinary is my fav. from the hydraulic acid to the Retinol and more.
Such a great guide for travel products and love your choices. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much.

I always bag lots and then I realize that wherever I go, they have shops too and sell all there is in my bag!:)) And, of course, I end up buying more! The fun of travelling…
Yes, I was the same, but later I managed to organised and have the travel pack size always handy.
